ミャンマーの軍人の皆さんへ
貴方たちは独立の父・アウンサン将軍の教えに共感して軍人になったのではないのですか？
国民の幸せと安全を守るために軍人になったのではないのでしょうか？
ミャンマーがようやく発展した最中（さなか）にクーデターを起こして、発展を止めようとしているのですか？
国の母・アウンサンスーチーは１５年間も軍事政権により家宅軟禁を強いられ、そして今再び軍により家宅軟禁に置かれました。
どうか、彼女をもう苦しませないでください。
彼女は国民の幸せ、健康、豊かさを願って寝る時間も惜しみ、食事も減らして努力してきました。
そのようなミャンマーにとって、世界にとって大切な人を貴方たちは家の中に縛りつけているのです。
どうか一日も早く解放してあげてください。
ミャンマーに再び平和で安心して暮らせるような国にしてあげてください。
日本国民も世界の市民も願っています。

To all military personnel of Myanmar:
I ask you, did you not become military personnel having sympathized with the teaching of General Aung San, the father of Myanmar’s independence?
Did you not become a soldier to protect the happiness and safety of your people?
Do you not realize that by your coup d’etat, you are stopping the development of Myanmar as it is finally taking place?
Aung San Suu Kyi, considered to be the mother of your country, was put under house arrest by the military government for 15 years in the past, and now she is again held in confinement in her house by the military.
Please do not make her suffer once more.
She had cut down on sleep, and even reduced time to eat, and work for health, happiness and prosperity of her people.
You are confining in her house the one person who is of so much importance to the entire world.
Please release her as soon as possible.
Please make Myanmar a country where you can once again live physically and mentally in peace.
I hope so from the bottom of my heart for the sake of citizens not only of Japan but of the entire world.
